This is a special piece crafted to pay tribute to the important role that dogs have served in the US Military. Dogs have been used in the military for hundreds of years, but it wasn’t until WWII that dogs were officially used in war efforts. Since then dogs have come a long way in their role in the military from just being scouts and trackers to now being used for intricate military conflicts. The saying, “dogs are a man’s best friend,” truly knows no limits, these dogs not only work alongside our Soldiers, they also fiercely protect them. Rod Mench created this piece to honor the bond between our Soldiers and their K9’s.
